The Singapore Coffee Market
Singapore functions as one of Asia's most important hubs for specialty coffee — both as a consuming market and as a commercial gateway to the broader Southeast Asian region. Its free trade environment, world-class logistics and highly international business culture make it a natural base for companies looking to establish or expand their presence across Asia.
Alongside its traditional kopi culture, Singapore has developed a thriving specialty café scene that attracts professionals from across the region. Regional distributors and importers based here frequently handle procurement for multiple markets — Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines — making a single strong contact potentially worth several times its face value.
The Event: SIGEP Asia — Speciality Coffee & Tea Asia
SIGEP Asia is held annually at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore. The Speciality Coffee & Tea Asia component brings together coffee professionals, roasters, importers, equipment suppliers and café operators from across the region and beyond.
The 2025 edition drew over 13,000 attendees from 124 countries, with more than 20% travelling from abroad. The event features a structured B2B programme that facilitated over 1,600 pre-arranged buyer-seller meetings between 152 international buyers from 26 countries — generating an estimated $124 million USD in commercial value.
Singapore National Coffee Championship
Co-located with SIGEP Asia, the Singapore National Coffee Championship (SNCC) takes centre stage across the event's three days. Organised by the Singapore Coffee Association, the championship draws competitors and spectators from across the industry in four categories — Barista, Brewers Cup, Latte Art and Cup Tasters — in front of a full audience of coffee professionals. Winners go on to represent Singapore at the World Coffee Championships, making this one of the most high-profile coffee competitions in Southeast Asia and a significant draw for serious industry visitors.
